$1.4 Million Dollar Result for Victim of Dog Bite

Ronald D. Ingber a long island personal injury attorney located in Garden City recently negotiated a settlement for a 7-year-old child who was bitten by a dog. Plaintiff entered Defendant’s backyard to pet Defendant’s Akita when she was attacked, mauled and bitten by the dog. The dog, which was leashed to a tree in Defendant’s backyard jumped on Plaintiff knocking her to the ground and began biting her face. Plaintiff was subsequently taken to a Nassau University Medical Center’s Trauma Center. Plaintiff contended that Defendant’s were negligent and careless in their ownership and control of their dog in violation of the New York State Agriculture & Markets Law. Our client suffered severe lacerations to her right cheek requiring surgical intervention to reattach the flap of the right cheek as well as a debridement procedure. Ronald, a dog bite lawyer in New York, would have proven that the Defendants’ dog had vicious propensities. The settlement was placed in a trust on behalf of our client and may yield her in excess of $1.4 Million Dollars.
